About Lingostar
Lingostar, headquartered in Singapore, is an ESL platform that specializes in one-on-one live classes provided by native English teachers from the USA, Canada, and the United Kingdom, as well as fluent English teachers from the Philippines.
These educators are selected from a pool of qualified candidates. The Lingostar ESL platform employs teaching materials from Oxford Thinker and curriculum development is overseen by professional teaching and research teams.
The target audience for Lingostar's ESL curriculum includes students aged 5-13, with a primary goal of encouraging their exploration of interests and improving academic performance through engaging educational experiences.
The classes are conducted through the Lingostar app, enabling seamless interaction between teachers and students.
Lingostar Requirements
Lingostar currently employs two different types of teachers:
Native Teachers
Philippines English Teachers
Native Teacher Requirements
Be from the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or Ireland
possess a bachelor's degree or above
possess a teaching certificate (ex. 120-hour TEFL, TESOL, etc)
Have one or more year’s online teaching experience
Philippines English Teacher Requirements
Be a fluent English speaker from the Philippines
Lingostar Salary
Native Teachers
$14-$20 USD/hour (with an average monthly income of $2000)
Philippines English Teachers
$3-$6 USD/hour (with an average of monthly income of $500)
Lingostar uses PayPal, amongst other methods, to pay its teachers.
Lingostar Class Type
Lingostar classes are 1-to-1 (one teacher, one student)
Time slots are 30 minutes long, with a required 25 minutes of active teaching.
Lesson plans and teaching materials are provided
Lingostar Student Age Range
Lingostar is currently hiring teachers to teach students aged 5 and 6 years old
Lingostar Minimum Hours
Teachers must be available to teach a minimum of 10 hours during peak teaching times (see below)
Lingostar Peak Teaching Times
Peak hours are from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Singapore Time) on weekdays and all day on weekends.
Teachers must be available to teach a minimum of 10 hours during peak teaching times.
